Blocking in Multiwavelength TDM
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper examines the relative importance of wavelength conversion and time-slot interchange in improving the performance of multiwavelength time-division mul-tiplexed networks. It is shown that, in networks with a small number of wavelengths, each carrying a large number of time-division multiplexed channels, signiicant performance improvements are achieved by the introduction of time-slot interchange alone, without wavelength conversion. However, some performance improvements are also achieved by the introduction of wavelength conversion alone.

Blocking in Multiwavelength TDM Networks
only wavelength translation is higher than that when TSI is introduced, either alone or in addition to the wavelength translation. However, for one-and two-hop paths, the observed blocking probability with wavelength translation alone is below that obtained with TSI, and above the blocking probability for the corresponding paths in networks without either wavelength translation or TSI. Similarl...

Previous works have proposed analytical models of TDM wavelength networks to evaluate the blocking performance, but they differ in their underlying assumptions and have varying computation complexities. In this paper, we propose an analytical model of TDM WDM optical networks with optical time-slot interchangers and without wavelength converter for minimum fixed hop routing. In order to make th...

Advances in optical WDM technology have paved the way for high-capacity wavelength channels capable of carrying information at Gb/s rates. However, with current traffic streams requiring only a fraction of a wavelength’s bandwidth, it becomes necessary to groom these independent low rate traffic streams on to higher capacity wavelength channels. An alloptical approach to grooming is to allow ma...

Immune responses in major histocompatibility complex (MHC)-disparate congenic mouse strains immunized with sexual stage malaria parasites or purified recombinant protein were adjuvant dependent. Whereas mice exhibited a limited antibody response to immunization with newly emerged Plasmodium falciparum gametes in Freund's adjuvant, all five congenic mouse strains responded to several transmissio...
متن کاملCharacterization of the Receptors for Mycobacterial Cord Factor in Guinea Pig
Guinea pig is a widely used animal for research and development of tuberculosis vaccines, since its pathological disease process is similar to that present in humans. We have previously reported that two C-type lectin receptors, Mincle (macrophage inducible C-type lectin, also called Clec4e) and MCL (macrophage C-type lectin, also called Clec4d), recognize the mycobacterial cord factor, trehalo...
